It's easy to forget that in an era with the best economy since 9/11, more than 40 million people in the US live l with food insecurity, which is the technical term for when you don't know how you're going to eat your next meal.
Nick Koster is the Program Director at Open Access in Homewood, IL. Christopher Clark grew up in Harvey, IL, a community in Cook County a high poverty rate. Despite much more lucreative offers, Clark returned to Harvey after law school to serve as the communty's only private practice lawyer. He is also a city alderman.
This is a conversation about how even small moves by people like you and me to fill in the gaps around poverty to help people living in desperate situations to rise above their current circumstances.
